I am so thankful that we were able to surprise my in-laws for their 40th wedding anniversary in Virginia:) It was a HUGE success and they were blown away when they saw us. It was priceless. I always long to be with family this time of year.
Harper couldn't get over all of the trees and falling leaves. Here he is playing in my backyard at the house I grew up in.

We drove endless miles where the trees hugged the highways in the most beautiful colors.
At Mimi and Poppy's house, many of the leaves had already fallen. Pretty soon they will be covered with snow and ice.
Harper had so much fun playing with his cousins. They loved exploring Mimi and Poppy's house, which is the same house where Collin grew up.
Mimi (my mother in law) has a wonderful eye for interior decor. I have always loved their house, which is full of gorgeous antiques and history. Here is a beautiful collection of Carl Sorensen pottery that she has collected over the years while antiquing. I can't wait to start my own collection!
We spent a lot of time exploring Collin's old bedroom.
And even made time for a game of croquet.
Harper learned all about the Washington Monument and The White House as well as all of the other monuments and history that surrounded us.
We made a trip to the Smithsonian.
And just took in the beauty of Fall season.
Harper adores his cousin who is 3 months younger.
They are all very spoiled with love by Mimi and Poppy.
My neice is the most beautiful little girl.
We spent much time with my side of the family as well.
The short drive to see everyone was so captivating. How did I ever take these roads forgranted?!
I was so giddy when we drove by the cotton fields too.
I cherish every moment I get to spend with my nephews. Walking one of them to preschool in the mornings made my heart melt. And is that not the cutest preschool you've ever seen? It's right across my brothers house and is an old historic farmhouse.
It was so much fun surprising two of my nephews at preschool. I am such a proud aunt...
I was so sad to leave our family, but am so incredibly thankful for the memories that were made. I can't wait to visit again or maybe even move back. You never know!
You're such an incredible photographer!! What a beautiful family. xo
