She must have known...

...that I would have a baby girl one day.  My beloved mom and angel in heaven kept an entire vintage suitcase full of my baby belongings, and my sweet younger brother surprised me with it during our trip back to Virginia.  I never even knew she had this stuff waiting for me, so I was touched beyond words as you can imagine. She had perfectly preserved my crib sheets, receiving blankets, quilts, socks, shoes, bonnets, my hooded towel, sweet little dresses, and the list goes on.  I could feel my moms presence as I was gently unpacking each item. I couldn't believe that I was the little newborn baby who was once bundled up in all these pieces. I also couldn't help but imagine what my mom was thinking as she was packing these cherished keepsakes away for me. I was her only little girl and I hope I made her proud.  Oh how I long to share these moments with my mom and dad.

  1. Wow, Grace! They are all so beautiful and delicate! My Mom saved a box of all my art work and letters from summer camp. I treasure them so very much and hope to do the same for my boys. xo Samantha ps. Does this mean you are having a baby girl soon? If so, BIG congrats!!

  20. Grace, I can only imagine how that must have felt to receive that gift. I lost my brother a few years ago and what I wouldn't give to have some "treasure" from him unexpectedly given to me. So happy for you!! Many blessings to you and your family.
